Boykin Edwards, Jr. is the founder of Boykin Edwards, Jr., P.C., Attorney At Law, with significant litigation and trial experience in both federal and state courts.
Mr. Edwards represents individuals and companies of all sizes across a wide range of civil matters. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in litigation involving personal injury from auto accidents, truck accidents, and slip-and-fall, as well as probate of estates, probate disputes, and business issues.
Attorney Edwards has handled many jury trials and has recovered millions of dollars in damages for his clients. Before starting his law practice, he spent sixteen years representing two major insurance companies — experience that gives him a real advantage in understanding how the insurance industry operates. He knows the reasons to set an accurate “reserve” on a personal injury case, how a “reservation of rights” or “non-waiver” can affect a claim, and how outcomes can differ between a stock insurer and a mutual insurer. That is only a sample of the background he brings to each case.
Since 1988 he has represented individuals against insurance companies, and his formal training and experience continue to benefit his clients. He has received numerous awards and commendations. In 1999 he was appointed by the Supreme Court of Georgia to serve as a Special Master — a role that handles investigation, recommendation, and disposition of disciplinary actions against attorneys to ensure maximum protection of the public. In 2000, Mr. Edwards was appointed and served as a part-time judge in DeKalb Recorder’s Court until the court was dissolved in 2015.
